In other to maintain these attributes in your job role, DCSS ensures that all new and existing care workers are made to go through a series of mandatory and discretionary training that comprises of, Health and safety at work, First Aid at Work, Fire Warden, Administration of Medication, Infection Prevention & Control, Food Safety & Hygiene, Dementia awareness, Promoting effective communication, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS), Equality & Diversity, Challenging behaviour, Data Protection, Mental Capacity, Handling information, Manual Handling, Basic life support, Information Security Awareness, Lone working, Caldicott Protocols, Risk Assessment, Control and restraint, Personal care, Support individuals to eat and drink, Safeguarding Children, Support care plan activities, Understanding mental health problems, RQF L3 Health and Social care , RQF  L5 Health and Social care , Measuring vital signs, EMDR, Counselling Skills, Motivational Interviewing, Intro to Welfare Benefits, Falls Awareness, Legionella Awareness, Case Management, Behaviour Management, National Early Warning Score, Mental capacity assessment, recognising and responding to clinical deterioration, Prevention and managing of violence and aggression.

There is a training matrix which is being closely monitored by the registered manager that  makes it easy to ensure that all annual mandatory training are received by all care workers and certain discretionary training are received by some member of staff because of their job role and training needs analysis identified at individual supervision meetings.

All training are aligned with the CSTF Core Skills for Health Framework and the Basic Life Support will comply with current UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
